There are faster ways to travel across India.
This is not one of them.

Cycling Goa to Hampi is a journey from the Arabian Sea to the stone landscapes of southern India—across the humid Konkan coast, over the forested Western Ghats, and onto the vast Deccan Plateau.

Along the way, the road passes through a quieter India: fishing villages, jungle-clad climbs, open farmland, and small market towns where daily life unfolds at its own pace. But this is also a journey through history. Scattered across Karnataka lie the remarkable temple sites of the ChalukyasBadami, Pattadakal, and Aihole—and, at journey’s end, the extraordinary ruins of Vijayanagara at Hampi.

This book is not a conventional guide.

Blending narrative with a rich visual record, it presents the route as it is experienced: gradually, intimately, and at ground level. With over 140 photographs, the focus is not on logistics or checklists, but on place—on architecture, landscape, and the human encounters that shape the journey.

For those drawn to travel beyond the obvious—and to experience India through movement rather than observation—this is an invitation:

to slow down,
to ride deeper,
and to see more.
