Cycling Andalucia is a stage by stage pictorial account of cycling clockwise around the southernmost autonomous community in Peninsular Spain.

It is not a travelogue, but it is based on author’s personal account of the traverse. The emphasis is on what you see as you ride, not a personal story, yet without being the actual Andalucia traveler, cyclist, photographer, and protagonist, the book would not be the cycling account of the journey that it is. Although it is a pictorial, with many fine and memorable photographs, it is not a photography book, but a visual record of an Andalucia cycling tour from start to finish, from Malaga back to Malaga. While the aim of the book is to give you the jest of cycling the provinces of Malaga, Cadiz, and Seville, the bottom line of the book is to inspire you to go to Andalucia and ride about this unique part of the Iberian Peninsula yourself, and experience some of the many amazing places, such as, for example, Vejer de la Frontera, Andalucia offers.

In 142 pages, with 211 photographs and just enough text coverage to convey how you can make a much the same journey yourself, the book narrates a cycling itinerary of Andalucia that anyone in a reasonable physical shape can duplicate as a 2 to 3-weeks-long cycling vacation. As part of the book, you can download the author’s GPX tracks and follow his lead, or opt with their help to reconstruct an optional route.

Although the author doesn’t profess the book to be a cycling guide to Andalucia, it offers all you need to know to plan your own journey. Unfortunately, most people have a tendency to over-plan, confused by the overload of information available on any destination, all of which they believe they must research. They seek infinite details of places where to go, where to stay, and what to do, ponder endless alternatives with often a time an outcome that in the end of their tiring research they go nowhere at all, because they feel ill-prepared to dare a similar journey. With a lifetime track record of journeys all over the world, always self-guided despite having run a successful adventure travel company for 30 years, the author has learned to streamline the myriad of information to only the minimum that he hopes you yourself will realize is indeed the jest of the usable information to get you started on your way. Time for Andalucia is now! Let this book be your catalyst to cycling about Andalucia armed with just enough of useful information and go.
