]]> In 2018, I bicycled from Prague to Odessa. While I rode across five other countries in Eastern Europe – Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova, cycling Ukraine and finishing in Odessa was the highlight of my journey. I thought I’d soon return to Ukraine to ride through other parts of the country, imagining I’d continue from where I left off. Little did I know my memories would become mere irretrievable glimpses of the past. Ukraine would in less than four years change forever and the visions of my next ride across the country would become a dream. Yet, I’d like to believe that cycling across a free Ukraine will soon become possible once again.
