Trekking in the Everest
region is always spectacular. The trek from Kharta to
Kangshung Glacier and the Kangshung Face
base camp of Everest provides stunning views
of the Everest East Face. This is arduous 9-day trek
over two high passes - the Langma La, at 5330m,
and the Shao La, 4970m. The region from Kharta to
the Kama Valley further south constitutes the the
watershed of the Arun River in Nepal, and is part of the
blessed land of Guru Rinpoche known as "Beyul
Khebalung" or the hidden valley. The region
possesses number of holy lakes, mountains and the sacred
"Kharta Thechu" or the long-life spring water. |
