East Tibet 2 - Kham |
Tibet
tours main page |
 |
The
25-day East Tibet option includes all the highlights of
Kham around Derge, the cultural center of East
Tibet, the Derge Gompa being the key point of interest.
We visit
high nomadic pasturelands, the temple complex at
Dzogchen, the magnificent sacred lake of
Yilhun Lhatso, fortress-style monastery of
Palpung, the 13th century Sakya-sect
monastery of Baiya and in Mesho the Pema
Shelpuk cave. Kham is a goldmine of cultural treasures,
stunning landscape and very little known and even much
less traveled by the Westerners. |
