We provide logistics, gear, and guides to take small groups of 6-10 persons to sea kayaking channel islands of San Blas Archipelago for 5 days. This is a chance to enjoy paddling and snorkeling while staying at campsite, which we relocate every 1-2 days to explore the area; a support motor boat comes along.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Early morning 1 hour STOL flight across the Continental Divide to Isla Tigre where the Sahila (chief or community leader) of the island meets us. The afternoon is spent exploring the village and making new friends, then we paddle to the mainland rain forest to visit cemeteries and bird watch. In the evening we will dine with the Kunas in our newfound world.

Day 2 On this day we will motor across the offshore sand cays, and cross the Mangles channel to the magical white sand island of Sichirdup. The small island hosts a small research program operated by Kuna biologists. The surrounding reef and deep channel is glorious to explore. Kayaking to nearby reefs.

Day 3 All day trip to Rio Paloma and primary forest walk up the river. A good opportunity to wash in the fresh clean river water and spot crocs, giant river otters, toucans, birds of prey, monkeys and possibly tapirs! Kayaking and trekking.

Day 4 Motor boat to the Kuna operated lodge on the tiny Island of Kuanidup. Optional evening visit to traditional community of Mormaquedup.
