Day 1: ARRIVE IN PANAMA
Arrive at Panama’s International
Airport where our representative will be
awaiting you. Overnight at a hotel in the
Panama City.
Day 2: PANAMA CITY TOUR
After breakfast you will visit the most important
sites in Panama City. You begin by observing the
operations of the Miraflores Locks on the
Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal. From a tall
pavilion you will be able to observe a ship transit
on the canal while an expert guide explains the
operation. Historical and operational information
will be presented with the aid of an impressive
topographical model of the Canal. The tour
continues with a visit to the Panama Canal Museum.
The next stop is Casco Viejo, the walled
colonial city that represents the second Panama City.
The architecture of this area is exquisite,
including French, Italian, American and Spanish
styles. Visit St. Joseph’s Church and its golden
altar, the Independence Plaza, the main square and
the Cathedral. The Presidential Palace, Bolivar
Plaza, National Theatre and French Plaza, with its
great view of the modern city, are also located in
this area. Afterwards, we will drive to “The Modern
Panama”, to view its modern architecture, tall
buildings and very important commercial and banking
center. A delicious and traditional Panamanian meal
will be served at “The Trapiche Restaurant”.
Finally, we will visit Panama Viejo (Old
Panama) which was built during the 16th
century and destroyed by the pirate Henry Morgan in
1671. The tour will begin at the Panama Viejo
Museum, where the is a topographical model of the
city. The day is concluded with a walk through the
ruins of the “Old Panama City” and original center
of operations for the conquest of South America.

Day 3: LOS QUETZALES CABINS
Early morning flight to David, in the western
province of Chiriqui. Transfer by car to the west
side of the volcano, Cerro Punta, and a visit to
Friendship Park, shared with Costa Rica. This park
was recognized in 1986 as a Biosphere Reserve and
UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend the afternoon and
night at the alpine-style Los Quetzales Chalets,
located deep within the cloud forest of the Volcan
Baru National Park. The cabins are at canopy level
and have fully-equipped kitchens, fireplaces and
balconies. The breathtaking views, privacy, rich
birdlife and cloud forest vegetation, create a
romantic and unique atmosphere. Optional tours in
the afternoon include an exploration of the
different trails in the pristine rivers and private
waterfalls of the area. Another option is to get
massages and facials after relaxing in the jacuzzi
and sauna of the exclusive spa facilities in Los
Quetzales Hotel, located about a mile below the

Day 4: LOS QUETZALES CABINS
Wake up to beautiful songs of the birds and the
soothing sound of the river. Enjoy breakfast in bed
served catered to you. See the resplendent Quetzal
from the terrace of your cabin and relax with a
scenic view of primary-forest trees, mountains and
surrounding cloudforest. At you request, friendly
indigenous guides will take you along numerous
private trails surrounding the 350-hectare
compound. In the afternoon, ride mountain bikes or
gallop on horseback into spectacular sunsets and
quaint villages. The nearby flowing streams and
sounds of the forest provide a chorus of
symphony-like sounds, very much in harmony with the
tranquil setting of this remote retreat.

Day 5: BOQUETE/ PANAMONTE
Begin the day with a soothing massage
with the mountain as backdrop, or perhaps a facial
with tropical herbs that will stimulate your skin,
leaving it smooth and rejuvenated. After lunch,
transfer by car to the picturesque mountain town of
Boquete. In the afternoon, visit a private flower
garden and a coffee roasting facility. You may have
dinner at one of the excellent restaurants in the
town of Boquete. Overnight at Hotel Panamonte.

Day 6: WHITE WATER RIVER RAFTING/ BOQUETE
Rafting trip to the Chiriqui River takes you down
one of the most exotic and scenic rivers of the
country. It is a journey through unspoiled jungle
with exciting rapids. Lunch on the river. Night at

DAY 7: BARU VOLCANO HIKING TOUR
Morning tour through a farm where hundreds of
tropical birds and animals are celebrating the
beginning of a new day. Return to the lodge for a
tropical breakfast. Hike the Baru Volcano for a
bird watching tour. Night at Panamonte Hotel.

DAY 8: PANAMA CITY
After breakfast transfer by plane to Panama City.
Free afternoon for shopping. Dinner and folkloric
dance show at Tinajas Restaurant. Night at the

DAY 9: DEPARTURE PANAMA CITY
Transfer to the international airport for departure.

Day 1:
ARRIVE IN PANAMA
Arrival to Panama and transfer to the Canopy
Tower in the heart of Panama's Soberania
National Park. Birds such as the Blue Cotingas and
Green Shrike-Vireos that are normally glimpsed in
the treetops can be viewed at eye level, and all you
have to do is get out of bed and look out your
window. Dinner and overnight in the Canopy Tower.

Day 2: BARRO COLORADO ISLAND TOUR
Early morning departure to the Smithsonian’s
Barro Colorado Island /Barro Colorado Natural
Monument (BCNM). Administered by the
Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI), this
island is a biological reserve as well as the
best-studied rainforest in America. The BCNM has
been protected since 1923, longer than any other
protected jungle in the world. This is the home of
many birds such as the Red-Billed Toucan, Green and
Rufous Kingfisher and Golden-Colored Manaki. Box
lunch in the field. Dinner and night at the Canopy
Tower.

Day 3: POSADA DEL CERRO LA VIEJA
After breakfast, departure to Posada
del Cerro La Vieja in Cocle.
A
bus with a bilingual tour guide will pick you up at
the Canopy Tower. The adventure begins with a drive
through the Panamerican Highway to the forest of
Chiguiri Arriba. The three night / four day stay in
Posada La Vieja Lodge includes tours, all meals and
transportation. Activities include hiking, trekking
on different ecological trails, horseback riding, an
exploration of the area and its mysterious stone
petroglyphs writing by the falls. Discover a
rejuvenating mud bath and enjoy excellent Panamanian
cuisine in this remarkable setting on the slope of
the extinct volcano, "La Vieja".

Day 4: POSADA DEL CERRO LA VIEJA
Optional morning tour at dawn when nature is at its
best. Pure Adventure! The rest of the day you can
hike La Vieja Hill, enjoy the lodge’s private trails
or just relax in a hammock while overlooking the
beautiful mountains of Cocle.

Day 5: POSADA DEL CERRO LA VIEJA
Time to pamper yourself! Spend the morning enjoying
a soothing massage with the mountains and lush
vegetation as backdrop. Or, get a facial with
tropical herbs and mud bath that will stimulate your
skin leaving it smooth and rejuvenated. In the
afternoon, go on a horseback riding adventure to the
Tavida Falls where you will encounter birds, monkeys
and beautiful vegetation. Experience the
spectacular view of the Falls and swim in a natural

Day 6: PANAMA CITY
Take a morning walk through the trails around La
Posada. After breakfast, depart for Panama City.
Spend the rest of the day at the hotel or go
souvenir shopping downtown. Night at hotel in the

Day 7: TOTAL JUNGLE ADVENTURE!
A
bus will pick you up early in the morning for a day
trip to the Chagres River, one of the most important
and scenic rivers of Panama. Take a “piragua” (
native boat) through the tropical rainforest and
hike to an Indian Embera village. Lunch at the
Indian village. Arrive in Panama City in the
afternoon. Optional dinner and folkloric
dance show at Tinajas Restaurant. Night at hotel in

features tours of Panama City and Portobelo, and
then 4 nights on Isla Grande for snorkeling, hiking,
ocean kayaking and gourmet seafood.
Day 1 ARRIVAL PANAMA
Upon arrival our partner's shuttle will pick you
up at the airport and take you your hotel in the
center of Panama City for a one-night stay.
Day 2: PANAMA CITY & CANAL TOUR
Visit some of the most important sites in Panama
City, like the Pedro Miguel Locks and the ruins of
"Old Panama", once the center of operations for the
conquest of South America. This city was built
during the 16th century, and was destroyed by the
pirate Henry Morgan in 1671. We will visit "Casco
Viejo", the architecturally unique colonial city
built after Morgan sacked the original city.
Afterwards, we will drive through modern Panama and
finally visit "Mi Pueblito", a replica of a typical
town from the republic’s countryside. Night at hotel

Day 3: ISLA GRANDE / BANANA’S VILLAGE RESORT
After breakfast we will drive 2 hours to Portobelo
on the Caribbean Coast of Panama. We will visit some
historic monuments here before continuing our
journey to Guaira where we take a 10-minute boat
ride to Bananas Village Resort on Isla Grande, the
perfect place for a memorable honeymoon. Our
activities range from nature hiking, ocean kayaking,
exploring nearby beaches, snorkeling, plus gourmet

Day 4: BANANA’S VILLAGE RESORT
Suggested activities: boat tours to nearby beaches
and the National Park of Portobelo for a hiking
tour, sea kayaking, fishing or other. Light lunch
and refreshments are included for all tours. If you
were lucky fishing, the chef will prepare your own
catch based on his suggestions. (BL)
Day 5: BANANA’S VILLAGE RESORT
After a tropical breakfast enjoy an early bird
watching hike in Portobelo National Park. Witness as
birds and other creatures celebrate the beginning of
a new day. Portobelo Park offers distinct walking
trails to choose from. And after your hike, how
about a well-deserved piña colada from our pool bar
while overlooking the Caribbean Sea? (BL)
Day 6: BANANA’S VILLAGE RESORT
Experience kayaking or snorkeling in the Caribbean
or use the resort’s pool overlooking the ocean. In
the afternoon go to the nearby town of Isla Grande
to shop for souvenirs. (BL)
DAY 7: PANAMA CITY
After breakfast transfer to Panama City. Free
afternoon for shopping. Night and folkloric dance
show at Tinajas Restaurant. Night at Miramar
