Pakistan's north
west corner is remote, very isolated and completely
surrounded by mountains of Hindukush with Trich Mir
towering at 7706 m above sea level. More then 300
years under the Persian Empire, in the 5th and 4th
Century BC the Zoroastrian religion was wide spread.
Valleys inhabited by the Kalasha are the only
non-Muslim people left in the Hindukush and still
practice their pre Islamic religion. Birir,
Bamburait and Rambor are the common Khowar names.
