Itinerary:
Day 01 MANAGUA
Transfer to Hotel with charm in Managua.
DAY 02 MANAGUA-MASAYA-GRANADA
After breakfast Managua city tour: visit the old
cathedral, National Palace of Culture, National
Museum, Ruben Dario National Theatre, Xolotlan or
Managua’s Lake and the archaeological museum Huellas
de Acahualinca, then on to the Masaya Volcano
National Park a museum of anthropology, indigenous
history. Next to the top of the volcano; opportunity
to see the crater of the volcano. Later we will
visit the Artisans market in Masaya; ceramics and
souvenirs. Last visit the colonial city of Granada,
the pearl of colonial architecture. Overnight in Granada.
Day 03 GRANADA-VOLCAN MOMBACHO
After breakfast visit the Natural Reserve “Mombacho
Volcano”, many species of flora and fauna; see
coffee cultivation. Climb the volcano, impressive
view of the region, the great immensity of the lake
of Nicaragua, its small islands, stunning views of
the Masaya’s Volcano, among others. In the afternoon
tour of the Cocibolca (or Nicaragua) Lake, its 356
small islands. Overnight in a local hotel in
Granada.
Day 04 GRANADA-OMETEPE
Breakfast. Departure to the port of San Jorge, board
a boat to the Island of Ometepe. In the afternoon tour the
Island, visiting the archaeological museum in the
town of Altagracia, La Punta Jesús María and the
Charco Verde lake. Transfer back to the hotel.
Overnight on Ometepe.
Day 05 OMETEPE-MANAGUA
Breakfast, the explore more of the island. At noon
we will go back to the dock to take a ferry back to
Managua.
Overnight in Managua.
Day 06 MANAGUA-LEON
Breakfast. Today we will be visiting the Nicaraguan
city of University culture, Leon. Besides being the
first city founded by the Spaniards in Nicaragua, it
constitutes the intellectual cradle of the great
poet Rubén Darío, Father of Modernism and Prince of
Castellan Letters, as well as many other renowned
figures of Nicaragua's literature. Visit the most
important churches in the city: La Recolección, El
Calvario, the magnificent and splendorous Cathedral,
inside of which lay the remains of Rubén Darío, and
from the top of its domes experience the almost
perfect alignment of the volcanic mountain range.
Visit to the boiling mud pools of San Jacinto and
geysers located at the slopes of the Santa Clara
Volcano, which waters contain sulfides used for
medicinal purposes.
Overnight in Leon.
Day 07 LEON-ESTELI
Breakfast. Departure to Estelí by Empalme de San
Isidrio. Tobacco tour of the plantations, visit
factory. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue to
Matagalpa.
Overnight in Metagalpa.
Day 08 MATAGALPA – MANAGUA
Breakfast. Early in the morning enjoy the mountain;
after lunch return to Managua. Overnight in Managua.
Day 09 MANAGUA-CORN ISLAND
Transport by plane to Corn Island, of approximately
9 square kilometers, Caribbean breeze, white sand...
perfect end to your vacation. Overnight ion Corn
Island.
Days 10/11/12/13/14/15 at your own leisure on the
beach.
Day 16 CORN ISLAND- MANAGUA
Return to Managua by air. Overnight in Managua.
Day 17: Transfer to International Airport for your
departure home.
