CAST-01 COSTA RICA AND NICARAGUA 8 N/9 D
 
Day 01: SAN JOSE
Meeting at airport and transfer to selected hotel.

Day 02: PARQUE NACIONAL VOLCÁN POÁS Y SARCHÍ-CIUDAD DE ARTESANÍAS
Breakfast. After our trip through the Volcano Poas National Park, we'll continue to the cities of Grecian and Sarchi, the most important handicrafts centers in Costa Rica. You will visit the old metallic church of Grecia, whose particular red color distinguishes it from the other religious buildings all over the country. Return to San Jose for overnight.

Day 03 SAN JOSÉ – MONTEVERDE
Breakfast. Taking the Pan-American Highway we cross the valley and mountains to Lagarto River and next come to Monteverde. Accommodations: Hotel Estate Valverde's or similar
 
Day 4 MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST BIOLOGICAL RESERVE
Monteverde, a 10.000 ha. (24.710 acres) private preserve, is always cold and humid thanks to the rain clouds coming from the Caribbean. Exuberant forest area with numerous rivers, 2500 different plants, trees covered with moss and ferns that protect the home of different exotic frogs, 100 species of mammals and the resplendent quetzal, one of the 400 species of birds to be found here. In the 1950's, a group of farmers named “Quakers” founded Monteverde, which is today a charming little town. Lodging: Hotel Finca Valverdes or similar
 
Day 5: MONTEVERDE-PEÑAS BLANCAS-GRANADA
Breakfast and transfer to the Peñas Blancas border with Nicaragua . Pick up at the border with Costa Rica ( Peñas Blanca). Transfer to Granada. (98 KM)
On the way we will stop at the side of the great Lake of Nicaragua in the restaurant LA MAR, whose owner is the famous baseball player Dennis Martinez; we will have a snack and then continue to the city of Rivas, where we will visit the Museum and perform a panoramic tour. We will carry on towards the marvelous and impressive city of Granada, a jewel of colonial architecture that will take us back to the 18 th Century. Its small streets of horse drawn carts, the epoch of the Spanish conquers comes to life. We'll do the Historic Centre Tour: the Church and Archaeological Museum of the Convent of San Francisco, the Cathedral, among other colonial buildings that are part of all the architectural beauty of this city. Overnight stay in the Hotel Alambra 3* or similar.

Day 06: GRANADA
After breakfast we will visit the Natural Reserve “Mombacho Volcano”, which has many species of flora and fauna native to this zone. Climb the volcano and enjoy an impressive view of the region, the great immensity of the Lake Nicaragua, its small islands, and the Masaya Volcano, among other sites. In the afternoon we will finish our tour by visiting the Cocibolca (or Nicaragua ) Lake. Overnight in Granada .
 

Day 07: GRANADA-CATARINA-MASAYA-MANAGUA
Breakfast. Following the check-out we will visit the little town of Catarina, to marvel at the stunning panorama of the Laguna Apoyo. Catarina is a very picturesque town of artisans. From here we'll continue to the city of Masaya and the well-known artisans market of typical ceramic artifacts from the region. Next we'll visit the National Park Volcan Masaya and its museum, ascend to the rim of the crater where we can see the nests of chocoyos (love birds) that has adapt to the sulfuric gases emanating from this active volcano. Next we will go to Managua where we will overnight in Hotel Holiday Inn 4*
 
Day 08: MANAGUA
Alter breakfast we will take a city tour of Managua beginning by visiting the Historical Centre of the capital - El Malecon, Plaza Juan Pablo II, the National Theatre, the Ruben Dario National Theatre, Dario Park, Central Park, the old Cathedral, and The National Palace of Culture and the National Museum. Continuing with our tour you will visit the archaeological site and museum “Acahualinca Footprints”, with more than 10,000 years of history about Nicaragua's ancient civilization. Next we'll visit the Museum of Memorial Sandino,from where we can admire the panoramic view of the City of Managua . Last we'll go to the Central Market (Roberto Huembes).
 
Day 09: MANAGUA
Breakfast. Transfer to International Airport for a return flight to your home country.

DAY 02: Tour FD Lago Atilán/Panajachel
SOLOLA / PANAJACHEL / SANTIAGO ATITLAN

Arrive Guatemala City. Early this morning departure to Lake Atitlan passing by the town of Solola. Upon arrival in Panajachel, cross the lake by boat to Santiago Atitlan to visit the market, church and shops of this picturesque town nestling between three towering volcanoes. Watch the interesting pagan rites of Maximon, a native deity, at the local Cofradia (religious brotherhood). Return to Panajachel ( 13:30 ) for free time to walk and shop around. Back to Guatemala City late afternoon.

DAY 03: Antigua Guatemala y Aguas Calientes.
From your Hotel, close by only one-hour drive is the American Colonial Monument , Antigua , named so for the beauty and greatness of the colonial buildings. The town is protected by the surrounding eternal guardians, Volcanoes Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. This colonial city was founded in 1543 and was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1773. To Antigua we will take the Pan American Highway to San Lucas Sacatepequez. Once there you will drive over the cobblestone streets to visit the Main Square, The Cathedral, Palace of the Captain General, The Arms Plaza and The University. Your visit will also include colonial Churches and Monasteries. In the afternoon visit the jade factory where modern jewelry is manufactured. Also visit the nearby town of San Antonio Aguas Calientes, famous for its typical native weavings. Return to Guatemala City .

DAY 04: Tour FD Tikal
Early transfer to the airport to board your flight to Flores, Peten. On arrival at Santa Elena airport, our representative will take you to the archeological site of Tikal . Visit the main Plaza, the central and northern Acropolis, Lost World and Temple IV, from where you will observe the majesty of the city and the emerald green jungle. After lunch visit the museum where you can appreciate exhibits of ceramics and jade found in the Mayan tombs. Transfer to airport to board flight back to Guatemala City .

DAY 05: GUATEMALA- Nicaragua.
Transfer at Airport for your flight to Nicaragua . Pick up at the airport and transfer to your Hotel. Start tour visiting the old downtown (destroyed by the earthquake in 1972). You will visit the Presidential House, the National Assembly, the Ruben Dario National Theatre, the Palace of the Music, the monument in honor to the great poet Ruben Dario and the National Palace of the Culture. Transfer to Hotel Seminole Plaza 4*.

DAY 06: Masaya Volcano –Handicraft market- Catarina.
We start our trip visiting the Masaya Volcano National Park and its Natural History Museum; appreciate original samples of indigenous ceramics and learn history of the volcano, interesting dates of its eruption. We will continue our trip climbing by paved road to La Plaza de Oviedo from where we will marvel at the impressive beauty of the Santiago crater; observe nesting of small parrots (named “Chocoyos”) which have adapted to the sulfurous gases oozing from this active volcano. Continue to the “Balcony of Echo”, “Cave of Bats ” which begin its route in the Santiago crater, 612 meter in length.Return to Granada.

DAY 07: Granada, Mombacho Volcano, Isletas
Early in the morning on to Mombacho Volcano; the Biological Station; observe the unique beauty of this singular cloud forest, the splendid flora and fauna, diversity of environment with endemic species of the zone, trees covered mocees, ferns, bromeliads and orchids. At the top impressive panoramic view of the small islands and Granada City; Elfin Forest of wind twisted trunks and shrub-like tree tops. Lunch (optional). Afternoon optional canopy tour on lower slops of the volcano. Return to Granada.

DAY 08: Transfer to airport for your departure.

Day 04: Tour FD Tikal

Day 05: GUATEMALA-COSTA RICA
Transfer to airport and fly to San Jose, Costa Rica. Pick up at the airport and transfer to your Hotel. City tour - visit La Sabana Park, Rohrmoser and Los Yoses residential areas, the Central Park, the Cathedral, the National Theatre, the Main Post Building, the Parliament, one of the Museums, the University of Costa Rica and Moravia souvenir shops.

Day 06 Poas Volcano – Grecia- Sarchí
Drive by dairy farms and flower plantations on the way to the National Park Poás Volcano, claimed to have the largest geyser in the world. Walk to Botos Lagoon, an ancient crater that you reach through natural paths. Ride the Pan-American Highway to Alajuela (second largest city). See coffee and sugar cane plantations. Visit Grecia, considered one of the cleanest cities in the Americas. Admire the wooden handicrafts at Sarchí, including the well-known ox-cart factories.

DAY 07: Tour Orosí-Lankaster y jardín de orquídeas
Ride from San José to Paraíso de Cartago to admire the eternal beauty of the Orosi Valley. See the Cachí Hydroelectric power plant; visit the ruins of the Ujarrás Church and the Orosi Church, one of the oldest colonial churches in Costa Rica.

Later, visit the Lankester Gardens, with an incredible diversity of plants and with the largest Orchids exhibition in Central America.

CAST 022 NICARAGUA AND PANAMA 7 N/ 8 D
 
DAY 01 Managua.
Meeting at airport and transfer to selected hotel.

DAY 02: MANAGUA-LEON
Breakfast. Today we will head towards the Occidental zone of Nicaragua, passing by the Ruins of the Old Leon, from where we will observe the Momotombo Volcano, which eruption destroyed Leon in the year 1610. We will move along to the Colonial city of Leon where we will undertake a City Tour visiting: The Cathedral, in which lies the Tomb of Rubén Darío, walk trough the cellars and then make our way up to the peak of the Cathedral, where we will be able to enjoy the splendid panoramic view of the volcanic mountain range, then on to the Museum of Art, and the native Indian district “El Laborío“. In the afternoon we will visit the San Jacinto boiling mud pools and geysers located at the slopes of the Santa Clara Volcano, which waters contain sulfides and can be used for medicinal purposes. Transfer back to Managua.

DAY 03: MANAGUA-MASAYA-CATARINA-GRANADA
After breakfast Managua city tour: visit the old cathedral, National Palace of Culture, National Museum, Ruben Dario National Theatre, Xolotlan or Managua 's Lake and the archaeological museum Huellas de Acahualinca. After that we';; continue to the Masaya Volcano National Park; visit the museum, learn about anthropology, indigenous history; then to the top of this volcano by paved road, admire the crater of the volcano. Later we will visit the Artisans market in Masaya where you can find ceramics and souvenirs. Last we will visit the town of Catarina, then on to the colonial city of Granada, the jewel of colonial architecture. Overnight in Granada .

DAY 04: GRANADA-ISLETAS-MANAGUA
By boat tour some of the 365 small islands in the Lake Cocibolca, also know as the Lake Nicaragua Lake, navigate narrow canals between islands, marvel at the beauty of the nature. Back to Granada for another walk in the historic city center. Return to Managua.

DAY 05 MANAGUA-PANAMA
Breakfast and transportation to the airport to fly to Panama. Meet and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 06 Panamá City tour and Canal
Breakfast. Depart from your hotel to visit Panama Viejo, the first city founded on the isthmus by the Spanish at the beginning of colonization. The remaining ruins are the vestiges of the city left by Pirate Henry Morgan, who sacked the town in 1671. Visit to the Panama Canal, one of the 20th century's most important engineering feats. At the Miraflores Locks you will have the opportunity to observe the locks as giant cargo ships are raised and lowered in them; also view the Canal from the scenic Amador Causeway.

DAY 07 Panamá
Breakfast. Free day for shopping or optional excursions.

DAY 08: Departure
Breakfast. Transfer to Airport.

Day 05 LEON- HONDURAS BORDER-TEGUCIGALPA
Breakfast. Transfer to El Guasaule, Honduras Border. On the way visit Ron Flor de Caña Factory. Continue to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Lodging.

Day 06 TEGUGIGALPA
Breakfast. City Tour. Visit Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras; it got its tongue twisting name from the ancient Nahuatl language, which translated means "silver mountain, " as Tegucigalpa came to being during colonial times as a mining center, the most important mining center in Central America during colonial times. "Tegus" as its inhabitants affectionately call it, is a mix of an old colonial city that has turned into the modern capital of Honduras.

Day 07 VALLE DE ANGELES
Breakfast. Today visit Valle de Angeles, a picturesque town that has become a favorite weekend escape for the inhabitants of Tegucigalpa. Its proximity, only 30 km, and the good highway connecting it to the capital has made it also popular with foreigners, many of whom have settled in the area. Return to Tegucigalpa for overnight.

Day 08 TEGUCIGALPA-SAN PEDRO SULA.
Breakfast. Transfer to San Pedro Sula, located in the northern part of the country. San Pedro is only a few miles from the coast and has always played a major role in Honduran history. Lodging.

Día 09: SAN PEDRO SULA-COPAN
Early transfer to Copán. We travel through scenic landscapes until reaching Copán Ruins, where we'll visit the legendary archaeological park which consists of two main sites: the ruins and the sepulchres. Learn about the impressive 63 step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and the masterfully carved Stella. Afternoon visit to Las Sepulturas, a residential and burial site of the Mayan nobles. Return to San Pedro Sula in the late afternoon.

Day: 10 Transfer to Airport or option: Flight to Fantasy Island for 2 night/3 days on the beach.

CAST 20 EL SALVADOR AND NICARAGUA 7 N / 8 D
 
Day 01
Transfer Airport to Hotel.

Day 02 SAN SALVADOR-SUCHITOTO-SAN SALVADOR
Breakfast. Departure from San Salvador to Ilobasco to see locals painting different tiny ceramic figures; continue to Suchitoto, located just 47 km northeast from San Salvador, founded in the early 1500's. In ancient language Suchitoto means " place of birds and flowers" and it is easy to see why. Walking around you'll find several interesting places like: Alejandro Coto´s Museum, picture galleries, Santa Lucía old church or you may take a boat trip on Suchitlán lake. Return to San Salvador and lodging.

Day 03 SAN SALVADOR-JOYAS DE CEREN
The tour will start at 8:30am departing from San Salvador. Joya de Ceren is considered to be the most important archeological site discovered in El Salvador. To leave the city we will take the Quezaltepeque highway, along the way appreciate one of the petrified lava rivers of the last eruption of the Quezaltepeque volcano in 1917, now known as San Salvador volcano. We will stop to admire this beautiful landscape, after we will continue our trip to the Laguna Caldera volcano, which was responsible for covering the village of Joya de Ceren 1400 years ago; its result was the preservation of what now is considered to be a jewel of history, known as the Pompeii of the Americas.

We will visit the volcano's extinct crater which is surrounded by beautiful flora. After this we shall continue to our main destination: Joya de Ceren, declared heritage monument by UNESCO in 1993 for being the only location in the whole Mayan culture where you can appreciate the day to day living styles of the popular pre-Columbian inhabitants, all well preserved thanks to the ashes of the volcano's eruption. Return to the city via the Pan-American Highway going up and through the mountains of El Balsamo´s range; to finish our tour we will stop at a restaurant to enjoy an excellent lunch.

Day 04 SAN SALVADOR-MANAGUA
Transfer at Airport for your flight to Nicaragua. Pick up at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Tour the old downtown (destroyed by the earthquake in 1972). You will visit the Presidential House, the National Assembly, the Ruben Dario National Theatre, the Palace of the Music, the monument in honor to the great poet Ruben Dario and the National Palace of the Culture. Transfer to selected Hotel.

Day 05: MANAGUA-GRANADA
After breakfast drive to Masaya Volcano National Park; later we will visit the Artisans market in Masaya where you can find ceramics and souvenirs. Last visit the colonial city of Granada, the architectural jewel of the colonial period. Overnight in Granada .

Day 06. GRANADA.
Breakfast . Free day for optional activities. Overnight in Granada.

Day 07 GRANADA-CATARINA-MASAYA-VOLCAN- GRANADA.
Breakfast. Following the Check out we will visit the little town of Catarina to marvel at the stunning panorama of the Laguna Apoyo. Next to the city of Masaya and the artisans Market where you can find typical ceramic artifacts from the region. On to visit the National Park Volcan Masaya with a fascinating crater, and nests of chocoyos (love birds) that have adopted to the sulfurous gases of this active Volcano. Return to Granada. Overnight.

Day 08 Transfer out
Breakfast and transfer to Airport.

CAST 19 BELIZE AND GUATEMALA - MAYAN CULTURE 7 N / 8 D
 
Day 01: BELIZE
Arriving at the international airport of Belize. Reception by our representative. Start tour of Belize with passing by the Blue Hole, a natural swimming pool in the Caribbean waters with more than 120 meters in depth; continue to San Ignacio; lodging.

Day 02. Altun Ha.
Breakfast. Visit the ruins about 30 miles from Belize City. Because the site is less than 10 miles from the sea, Altun Ha was probably more important for trading and agriculture, rather than as a ceremonial center. The Temple of the Sun God was named for the sites' focus of worship, the sun. The most remarkable artifact excavated at the site is a spectacularly carved jade replica of the head of Kinich Ahua, the Sun God. The jade was mined in Guatemala and other artifacts found at the site emanate from as far away as ruins near Mexico City. Altun Ha was occupied from 350BC to about 950AD. There's also great birding at the ruins. Return to Belize. Note: Altun Ha is a 1/2 day tour and can be combined with more intensive birding and wildlife viewing on the boat trips at Crooked Tree lagoon.

Day 03 BELIZE-XUNANTUNICH-SAN IGNACIO
Breakfast. At 07:30 a.m. we will depart to do a full day trip of Mayan´s lands, starting with the Ceremonial Center Xunantunich (means maid of stone) accessible only by ferry, which depart daily from San José Succotz. The most relevant structure in this place is El Castillo, a Pyramid 130 ft high at the south point of the main complex. We will climb the pyramid using a spiral path. From the top it is possible to have a beautiful view of Belize and even some interesting views of Guatemala. We will continue our trip learning the local flora and its medicinal uses. Lunch. Afternoon we will take a trip to Cahal Pech, located in the western riverside of Macal River, an important Mayan place that offers a wonderful view of San Ignacio. Overnight.

Day 04 SAN IGNACIO-TIKAL-GUATEMALA
Breakfast. Departure from the hotel, passing the border to Guatemala, to visit to the Ruins of the National Park Tikal. Visit the Q complex, the Main Square, the Center and North Acropolis, the Lost World, the Temple IV, Museum of History and others important places. Lunch. Afternoon transfer to the airport of Flores to go to Guatemala City. Reception and transfer to the hotel.

Day 05 GUATEMALA
Breakfast. Meet at hotel lobby, begin the trip of the New Guatemala de la Asunción, the official name for Guatemala City, which involves a great variety of architectural expressions, and offers innumerable contrasts. Start with visiting La Avenida de Las Americas, Avenida de la Reforma, then, the Central Park, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the shopping district in zone 1, business and residential areas. Transfer to local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon visit the National Museum of Archaeology and Handicraft Market.

Day 06 CHICHICASTENANGO AND ATITLAN .
Breakfast. At 07:00 a.m., depart to Atitlan´s Lake located in Solola Department, 126 kilometers far from Guatemala, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Short stop for 15 minutes in a typical restaurant in Tecpan. If our trip is on Sunday, or Thursday, we can admire the famous indigenous market with the Quiche rituals, named “place surrounded by ravines” by the Quiche-Mayas. Reach  Chichicastenango, which means “place of nettles” in Nahualt tongue, is one of the most popular places of the trip - founded in 1524 by the survivors of the Spaniards attacks to the capital Quiché, Utatlan. The Santo Domingo church built in 1540 on the ruins of a Maya Temple in an intent to eradicate all the remains of the indigenous culture to extend the colonial control on the area. Actually the white buildings dominate the square instead of the rituals practiced inside the church are a mix of the pre-Hispanic and Christians ceremonies. A living museum, the streets of “Chichi” are saturated in the believes of its Quiche inhabitants. The friar Francisco Ximenez discovered the history of its creation the “Popol Vuh” here at the beginning of the XVIII century. The city is full of life on Thursday and Sunday when the market is located on the square, marketers come from miles on the surrounded areas, are grouped here to sell its products, flowers, livestock, and handicrafts. Next we will continue to visit Panajachel settled at the shores of Atitlan Lake, a popular tourist site recognized by its impressive view of the lake and its three volcanoes. The majority of the hotels and restaurants are located between coffee plantations and beautiful gardens. Return to Guatemala City .

Day 07 GUATEMALA-CIUDAD ANTIGUA-GUATEMALA
Breakfast. Today we'll visit one of the most antique cities of American Continent: Ancient Guatemala, founded by the Spaniards in 1543, during the Conquest period. The UNESCO has declared the place a Heritage Site of the Humanity, a city of ruins, churches and convents but also of hotels, restaurants, handicrafts, and museums, a wonderful collage of colors and great ambiance. Lunch; afternoon return to capital. Lodging.

Day 08 Transfer out.

STCA-41 GUATEMALA AND HONDURAS 14 D / 13 N
 
Day 1: Guatemala City
Arrival at the Guatemala City airport. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Guatemala City .

Day 2: Antigua Guatemala
Transfer to Antigua, the earlier colonial capital of Central America, founded in 1543. We will visit the Main Square, the Cathedral and other colonial buildings. Overnight.

Day 3: Antigua – Chichi – Lake Atitlan
Departure to the highlands to visit Chichi. Tour through the open-air market (only Thursdays & Sundays), where colourful handicrafts of the region are for sale. Enter the 400-year-old church of Santo Tomás, where catholic and pagan rites take place in a mystical atmosphere. We continue to Lake Atitlan . Overnight in Panajachel at the lake.

Day 4: Lake Atitlan
Early in the morning we will start a boat ride to the Tzutuhil town of Santiago Atitlan. This small town still keeps the Mayan traditions and culture. We will visit the local market and the town's church before returning to Panajachel. Overnight in Panachachel.

Day 5: Lake Atitlan – Santa Lucia
We will tour the indigenous towns of Almolonga and Zunil, famous for its vegetables and flowers. We continue through the Pacific side to Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa passing through a big coffee and sugar cane plantations. Overnight.

Day 6: Santa Lucia – Copán Ruinas, Honduras
Drive through the Motagua valley towards Honduras . En route we will pass through the states of El Progreso and Zacapa in Guatemala . The villages Almolonga and Zunil are known for their colourful vegetable and flower markets. After customs formalities transfer to Copán Overnight in Copán.

Day 7: Archaeological Park of Copán
Today we visit the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán. Enjoy the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterfully carved Stella. In the afternoon we will visit Las Sepulturas, a residential and burial site of the Mayan nobles. Overnight in Copán.

Day 8: Copán – Lake Yojoa  
Transfer to the Yojoa Lake. It´s birdwatchers paradise! About 400 of the 700 species registered in Honduras can be found around this lake. We visit the impressive Pulhapanzak Waterfall before reaching our hotel at the lake.

Day 9: Lake Yojoa – Tela
We continue our way onto the Carribean coast to Tela. En route we visit the Lancetilla Botanical Garden. Leisure time in the afternoon. Overnight.

Day 10 - 13: Tela
Four days free to enjoy the sun, sand and tropical atmosphere of the Caribbean coast of Honduras. Optional excursions to nearby national parks may be organized at an additional cost. Overnights in Tela.

Day 14: Tela – San Pedro Sula
Transfer to the San Pedro Sula airport on time to connect to your departure flight or extension program to the beautiful Bay Islands.

CAST–42 HONDURAS AND NICARAGUA 12 D /11 N
 
Day 1: San Pedro Sula
Arrival at the San Pedro Sula airport. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in San Pedro Sula.

Day 2: San Pedro Sula – Copán
The "lost city" of Copán is among the most superb in the Mayan world.  Inhabited for 2,000 years, its golden age was from the 5th to 9th centuries when it far preceded other Mayan and European civilizations in its development of astronomy, sculpture and writing. Depart today to the scenic mountain town near the ruins. Leisure time in the afternoon to explore the village with its cobblestone streets. Overnight in Copán.

Day 3: Copán

After breakfast transfer to Tegucigalpa, driving through some of the most fascinating landscapes in Honduras. On the way we will visit Comayagua with its colonial heritage. Overnight in Tegucigalpa.

Day 6: Tegucigalpa – Valle de Angeles 
Before we will visit the Valle de Angeles, where we visit the famous National Handicraft Centre, we tour the Honduran capital. We return in the late afternoon. Overnight in Tegucigalpa.

Day 7: Tegucigalpa – León  
We cross the border to Nicaragua. After an interesting drive we reach León in the afternoon. Overnight in León.

Day 8: León – Managua – Granada
We tour León, the ancient capital of Nicaragua and then continue our way to the current capital, Managua. Overnight.

Day 9: Masaya Volcano – Granada
City tour in Granada visiting the colonial buildings. In the afternoon we go on to the national park of Volcano Masaya. The panoramic view is breathtaking. Overnight in Granada.

Day 10: Granada – Island Ometepe
After breakfast boat transfer to Ometepe Island. Ometepe is an incredible island located inside the lake of Nicaragua. It is formed by two volcanoes - Concepcion and Maderas. The Concepcion is a dormant volcano and the Maderas is extinct covered by a deep cloud forest. Overnight on Ometepe Island.

Day 11: Ometepe
We go for a hike near the volcano Maderas and learn about local rural life. We spend the afternoon at the Santo Domingo´s beach. Overnight on Ometepe Island.

Day 12: Granada – Managua
Drive back to Managua in time for your international flight. End of program.

STCA-43 NICARAGUA AND COSTA RICA 14 D / 13 N
 
Day 01 GRANADA-MANAGUA
Transfer to Selected Hotel in Managua. After the check in, we will visit the Historical Center of the capital: El Malecón, The Juan Pablo II square, the National Theater Rubén Darío, Darío's park, the old Cathedral, the New House of Government, The National Palace of Culture and the National Museum.

Día 02 MANAGUA-LEON
Breakfast. Today we will head towards the Occidental zone of Nicaragua, passing by the Ruins of the Old Leon, from where we will observe the Momotombo Volcano, which eruption destroyed Leon in the year 1610. We will move along to the Colonial city of Leon where we will undertake a City Tour visiting the Cathedral, in which lies the Tomb of Rubén Darío, walk trough the cellars and then make our way up to the peak of the Cathedral, where we will be able to enjoy the splendid panoramic view of the volcanic mountain range, then on to the Museum of Art, and the native Indian district “El Laborío“. In the afternoon we will visit the San Jacinto boiling mud pools and geysers located on the slopes of the Santa Clara Volcano, which waters contain sulfides and can be used for medicinal purposes. Transfer back to Managua.

DAY 03 MANAGUA-VISTAMAR
Breakfast. Departure in the morning to the beach “Pochomil” to enjoy the tranquility of a very charming small Hotel, all meals included.

DAY 04 VISTAMAR – Beach day with all meals included.

DAY 05 VISTAMAR-OMETEPE
Breakfast. Departure in the morning to the port of San Jorge, where we will board a boat that will take us to the Island of Ometepe. Check in at the Hotel “Villa Paraiso 3*”, located on a private beach of the lake. In the afternoon we will start a tour of the Island, visiting the archaeological museum situated in the town of Altagracia, La Punta Jesús María and the Charco Verde lake. Transfer back to the hotel.

DAY 06 OMETEPE-GRANADA
Breakfast. Morning we will explore more of this ecological paradise, at noon we will go back to the dock to take a ferry back and resume our journey towards the city of Granada. Arrival and check in at the “La Gran Francia Hotel 5*”. Lunch. Walk through the Historical Center of this beautiful colonial city.

DAY 07 GRANADA-MASAYA-GRANADA
Breakfast. Start our day with a visit to the National park of the Masaya Volcano, observe the impressive beauty and magnitude of the crater, the many nests of Parakeets, a specie of birds that have adapted to the sulfurous environment of this active volcano.

DAY 08 GRANADA-MOMBACHO-ISLETAS-GRANADA
Breakfast. We will begin our eco-touring route in the early hours of the morning first towards the biological station of the Mombacho Volcano. During our ascend we will delight our eyes with the unmatchable beauty of this unique cloud forest, the splendorous fauna and flora found in this extensive diversity of environments, filled with endemic species characteristic to the zone. Stunning trees covered with musk, ferns and orchids up to the point where its impossible to distinguish where one tree ends and another begins. As we reach the summit of the volcano, a dazzling panoramic view of the Small Islands and the City of Granada, will little by little come to views. Proceed through the unique “Dwarfed forest”, with its trees twisted trunks caused by the strength of the wind. Lunch, and in the afternoon we will take a boat ride trough some of the channels that surround the Small Islands of Granada.

DAY 09 GRANADA-EL CHOCOYERO-CATARINA-SAN JUAN DE ORIENTE Y LOS PUEBLOS
Breakfast. Today we will continue with our tour in contact with nature, specially designed for the observation of “Chocoyos” (Parakeets). We will leave early in the morning towards an eco-site called “El Chocoyero”. Arrival, and a walk trough the narrow paths in the thick woods where these type of birds nest. We will observe the birds, and rest under the leafy trees. We will return to our vehicle and move along to the native towns of Catarina and San Juan de Oriente, where we will be able to appreciate the very best of Nicaragua's crafts. The towns are very close one to the other - Diria, Diriomo, Niqinohomo, Masatepe, San Marcos and others, are all gathered together in a valley that practically spells out the colors, music and vivid stories of local folklore. Crafts made out of clay, wood and bamboo, the best traditional candies in the country, the most delicious soups of the region, leave an unforgettable impression on our minds of the Chorotega Culture. Transfer back to Granada in the afternoon and overnight.

DAY 10. GRANADA-FRONTERA DE PEÑAS BLANCAS-MONTEVERDE (COSTA RICA)
Breakfast. Departure to Costa Rica border, passing at the shores of Lake Cocibolca from where we will see the volcanoes Concepcion and Maderas on Ometepe Island with an incomparable scenic beauty . After we pass the frontier, we will continue to Montverde, one of the mot important Biological Reserves of Cloud Forest in Costa Rica. Lodging. In the afternoon a specialized guide will take us to observe some of the 300 species of migratory birds residing in the region. Dinner and lodging

DAY 11 MONTEVERDE-SAN JOSE
Breakfast. Today we can enjoy the nature, take an optional canopy tour, or horseback ride to thermal waters. After lunch we will continue to San José , capital of Costa Rica where we will lodge.

DAY 12 SAN JOSE
Breakfast. Depart for a city tour that will take us to visit the most important tourist attractions in San José, the capital city - the National Theater built in 1897, the Jade Museum that houses interesting pre-Columbian objects as well as contemporary works of art. The tour also includes the Metallic Building, the National Assembly, the Supreme Court, the Justice Tribunals and many other interesting government buildings, finishing with a visit to the handicrafts market. Afternoon free.

DAY 13 SAN JOSE-VOLCAN POAS-GRECIA-SARCHI-SAN JOSE
Trip to the Volcano Poas National Park is followed with visit to the towns of Grecian and Sarchi, handicraft centers of Costa Rica. You will visit the old metallic church of Grecia, whose particular red color distinguish it from the others religious buildings all over the country. Retur to San Jose and lodging.

DAY 14 SAN JOSE
Breakfast. Transfer to Airport for departure.
