Life in a Ladakhi village
Stay in two villages - Tia and Hemis Shukpachen in Sham (Lower Ladakh), visit people's homes, gain insight into their lives, join their village meetings - soak in the winter ambiance of Ladakh. During April and May Ladakh bounces back to joy of the Spring awakening that follows one of the hardest winters in Asia. These are the months of planting and sowing. You will share in a Ladakhi family life and gain understanding of their life's events, what significance rituals and  festivals have in children's education, sowing of fields, keeping of cattle and similar facets of Ladakhi daily life in this life bringing season of the year. This is an unique opportunity to learn the art of living that seems to have been lost from our lives in the West.

 

Itinerary:

 

Day 1 : Fly Delhi to Leh and rest.
Day 2 : Sightseeing around Leh.
Day 3 to Day 10 : Stay in villages
Day 11 : Sightseeing monasteries of Chemre and Taktok.
Day 12 : Flight Leh to Delhi
