ITINERARY
Rulers from
Central Asia plundered her for her immense
wealth. The Mughals enchanted by her
ethereal beauty stayed on to make her their
home, The British , through 300 yrs of foreign
rule tried to tame her. Welcome to India - the
land of mystery and magnificence that entices
visitors to reach out and savor her and nowhere
else one should begin his journey of India than
in the North and the sacred city of Varanasi.
This ancient city of India is located on holiest
river of India--Ganga. This relation is
unique and has attracted thousands of pilgrims.
For every visitor Varanasi has different
experiences to offer. The shimmering red and
golden water of the Ganges when rays of dawn
falls on them, the high banks, the temples, the
Ashrams, the pavilions all are an experience in
themselves. This is a tour that includes the
most well-known of India's historical treasures.
After Varanasi you sample the magnificent
temples at Khajuraho. Best known for
their representation of delicate sensuality and
eroticism the Khajuraho temples are the most
exquisite specimens of Hindu architecture. Then
onto Orchha, the Angkor Wat of India,
Jhansi and then Agra and India's marvel in white
marble, the Taj Mahal. From here we
continue to the exotic land of the Emperors, of
exquisite sunrises and sunsets, of legendary
gardens, palaces, mosques and bazaars, to
Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur of
the legendary State of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is
the land of the rajputs - the warrior clans
whose tales of valor are still sung by the bards
in every hamlet, whose amazing acts of bravery
echo in the invincible forts and towers they
built. Endless golden dunes, beautiful palaces
and above all the haunting melodies of folk lore
and the profusion of color that surround the
simple folk of this region is what endears
Rajasthan to the world.
An
impatience of spirit, a desire for wisdom and a
passion for the saner pursuits of the mind is
unintentionally imbibed by those who travel to
India. There is more to this country than Taj
Mahal, Himalayas or the sacred river Ganga,
INDIA is an opportunity to explore the realms of
ones spiritual being , of reaching out to the
unknown, to discover the deeper truth that is
life.
As the Mahabharat says, "What is here, may be
elsewhere, but what is not here is nowhere".

The Temples: The architectural style of the
Khajuraho temples is very different from the
temple prototype of that period. Each stands,
instead of within the customary enclosure, on a
high masonry platform. Combined with the upward
direction of the structure, which is further
accentuated by vertical projections, the total
effect is one of grace and lightness,
reminiscent of the Himalayan peaks. Each of the
chief compartments has its own roof, grouped in
such a way that the highest is in the centre,
the lowest over the portico, a triumph of skill
and imagination in recreating the rising peaks
of a range.
