Day 1: BOMBAY / COCHIN /
KUMARAKOM
Our representative will transfer you to the domestic airport
and assist you to Check-In on the flight to Cochin. Jet
Airways flight No. (9W- 401. Departure at 8:50 AM. Arrival
at 10:35 AM. You will be met on arrival and transferred to
Kumarakom, which is an hour and 30 minutes drive from the
Airport.
Transfer by a motorboat to the
COCONUT LAGOON RESORT, located on an Island on
the backwaters of KERALA.
Coconut Lagoon is a Resort set on an abandoned coconut
plantation in the very heart of the backwaters of Kerala. It
offers accommodation in individual cottages called THARAWADS
or the traditional wooden house of Kerala.
Some of these cottages are recent vintage, many are well
over a century old and a few actually date back to the early
1700s. Checkin into a Bungalow at the Resort. Rest of the
day at leisure. Overnight in Kumarakom.
Day 2: KUMARAKOM
Breakfast at Hotel. Coconut
Lagoon is a Resort set on an abandoned coconut plantation in
the very heart of the backwaters of Kerala. It offers
accommodation in individual cottages called THARAWADS or the
traditional wooden house of Kerala.
Some of these cottages are ore recent vintage, many are well
over a century old and a few actually date back to the early
1700s. Full day at leisure at this resort. You could use the
Ayurvedic Centre for a massage or take a dip in the Large
Pool or go for a Sunset Motorboat Cruise on the Vembanad
Lake.
Overnight in Kumarakom.
Day 3: KUMARAKOM / COCHIN
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning at
leisure. Drive to Cochin. 1 Hour drive. Check-In at your
hotel. Towards sunset boat cruise on the Cochin Harbor,
visiting the Chinese Fishing Nets. Overnight in Cochin.
Day 4: COCHIN
Breakfast at Hotel. Visit the Mattancherry Palace,
Jewish Synagogue and the Chinese Fishing Nets at Sunset.
Evening witness a live show of Kathakali, a form of dance
and drama, which depicts stories from Indian Mythology.
Overnight in Cochin.
Day 5: COCHIN / GURUVAYOOR
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning at leisure. Drive to Guruvayoor,
a temple town North of Cochin. Though the high point of the
visit to Guruvayoor is the Krishna Temple, but foreigners
and non-Hindus are not allowed inside. There are about 40000
devotees who visit the temple every day. On arrival Check-In
at Hotel SOPANAM HERITAGE.
Walk through the streets leading to the Temple. Overnight in
Guruvayoor.
Day 6: GURUVAYOOR / TELICHERRY
Breakfast at Hotel. Between 9 to 10 AM visit the Elephant
Training Camp at Guruvayoor. The best time to visit the camp
is between 9 to 10 AM. This is the time the place is buzz
with activities. Elephants are given a bath and fed at this
time. The camp is home to 50 Elephants, which have been
donated to the temple by rich civilians. The house complex
that is more than 200 years old was donated in 1975 by the
owners to the temple. The elephants come from all over
India, like Bihar, Assam, Kerala and are trained here in the
local language. After the visit drive to Telicherry. Its
around 4 hours drive from Guruvayoor to Telicherry. On
arrival Check-In at the AYISHA
MANZIL. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight.
Day 7: TELICHERRY
Telicherry is located 65 Kms from Calicut on the Cannore
road. It used to be the main port, before Cochin Harbor came
up. Enroute to Telicherry, we cross Mahe, which was one of
the French Colonies.
The place is abuzz with activities. There is a curing centre
of Consolidated Coffee Ltd. a Tata Company, an interesting
Fish Market, where one can see Fishermen selling their
catch, an old family mosque of the Moosa's, which has a
tiled roof covered with copper, a 3 km drive-in beach, the
largest cinnamon garden, beedi (local cigar) rolling units.
There is an old English Fort, which now houses Govt.
Offices.
Your stay for 2 nights will be at the AYISHA MANZIL.
Day 8: TELICHERRY / WAYNAD / SULTAN BATHERY
Breakfast at Hotel. Drive to Waynad. Still unexplored and
virgin to tourists. The waynad area is full of Wildlife
sanctuaries and forest ranges that include the Sultan
Bathery, Tholpatty Range and Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary.
Your stay for the next two days will be in TRANQUIL, a
plantation hideaway . It's a Coffee Estate called Kuppamady
Estate and there are 6 rooms available for the guests. The
owners personally look after all the guests and a small
private pool is also available for guest use.
The Plantation has about 400 acres of land and their own
trekking trails. A trek through the plantation area will
take you to see coffee bushes, pepper vines, cardamom
plants, coconut and bananas co-existing with natural flora
and fauna of the region.

Day 9: WAYNAD / NAGARHOLE
Breakfast. Drive to Nagarhole in Karnataka. The park is
spread over 643 Sq Kms. It is considered the finest tiger
habitat in South India and is blesed with balmy climate and
dense jungles homing astonishing abundance of wildlife. One
can see large herds of Gaur, The Indian Bison roaming near
grassy swamps and herds of elephants wandering on the banks
of the Kabini River.
Check-In at the KABINI RIVER LODGE.
The lodge is managed by Jungle Lodges and Resorts , a unit
of Karanataka Government. All rooms are spacious and have a
colonial atmosphere. The food and service is very good and
the resident director personally takes care of all guests.
Visit the Park for Photo Safari on Jeeps or Elephant Backs.
Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at Nagarhole.
Day 10: NAGARHOLE
Breakfast. Continue activities, which would include a
Coracle Ride to view crocodiles, nature walk and a second
safari into the Park on Jeeps or Elephants.
Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at Nagarhole.
Day 11: NAGARHOLE /MYSORE
After breakfast drive to Mysore, located 80 Kms. Mysore is a
gracious city that offers a princely heritage with its
Palace Hotel. Check-In at the
LALITHA MAHAL PALACE.
Visit the Mysore City Palace, completed in 1912 and designed
by an English Architect. A part of the Palace is still
occupied by the former Maharaja from the Woodeyar Family.
There is a collection of stained glass, mirrors and some
beautiful carved wooden doors.
Overnight in Mysore.
Day 12: MYSORE / BANGALORE / BOMBAY
Breakfast at Hotel. Drive in time to Bangalore Airport.
Connect flight to Bombay. Jet Airways flight 9W-444.
Departure at 3:10 PM Arrival at 4:45 PM. On arrival transfer
to the City. Check-In at your Hotel. Rest of the time at
leisure. Overnight in Bombay.
Day 13: BOMBAY
Breakfast at Hotel. Excursion to the Elephanta Caves by an
Ordinary Launch. (This day should not be a Monday as the
Elephanta Caves remain closed for maintenance on Mondays).
Afternoon visit the Crawford Market, Visit the Dhobhi Ghat
and the Prince of Wales Museum. Late night transfer to the
International Airport. Assistance by our representative to
check-in on your flight back home.
Day 14: DEPARTURE FROM BOMBAY.
Fly back home and arrive same day.
