woodcarvers of the area to see them work. You can also see the interesting pink & white façade of the Jocotenango
church before you transfer across to the wonderful Azotea Coffee farm and museums. Here you can have a private
guided tour of the Coffee Farm & the museums covering Mayan traditional music and costume. Learn about the

DA5: COMALAPA MARKET & LOCAL PAINTERS TOUR – DAY TRIP FROM ANTIGUA or on a TRANSFER TO LAKE ATITLAN

DESCRIPTION: Guests will be met at their hotel by their private guide & driver for their 1hr transfer to the town of
Comalapa. On arrival to the town guests can see the famous painted mural that the school children of the town painted
depicting mayor events in Guatemala’s history up to the signing of the peace accords in 1996. From here you will visit
some local painters who continue the tradition of naïve paintings that the town is so famous for and visit a local bakery
to see how they make the small, rock hard biscuits known as “Roscas” that sell by the thousands each day in
Guatemala. Finally guests can visit the wonderful authentic market of Comalapa to see the local people go about their
daily life buying produce and goods for the rest of the week still dressed in the traditional textiles of the area. Guests
can also visit the small museum dedicated to the composer who wrote Guatemala’s national anthem who came from
Comalapa.

town of Chichicastenango. Along the way guests will pass through the central highland region and see the local Maya
people in their traditional dress going about their daily lives - working in the fields, collecting firewood, traveling between
markets, selling their wares. Upon arrival at Chichicastenango your guide will take you to explore this famous market
both the local areas of the fruit & vegetables & everyday items as well as the craft area where you can find endless
variety of beautiful textile, wooden & ceramic crafts. Guests can also visit the famous St Tomas Church where local
Maya people come to perform Maya rituals within the Catholic church - demonstrating the interesting way the two faiths
have combined in recent times. If they want to guests can also hike up the hill to the Pascaul Abaj ritual site to see if

DA8: DAY TRIP TO COPAN IN HONDURAS BY CHARTER PLANE
DESCRIPTION: Guests transfer to the Guatemala National airport and board a private charter plane for the 40flight
across Guatemala and into Honduras, landing on a small dirt landing strip just outside the town of Copan Ruinas.
Guests are met off the plane by their driver and guide and are transferred the 20mins through town and down to the
Archaeology site at Copan. Here they enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful site which is famous for its intricately carved
stelea and amazing hieroglyphic stairway as well as its comprehensive museum. When ready guests return to the town
of Copan to enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and time to explore this pretty town. At about 4pm guests will fly back to
Guatemala city and be transferred to their hotel.

DA10: DAY OF PACIFIC SAILFISH - DEEP SEA FISHING
DESCRIPTION: Guests transfer down to the Pacific Coast Marina through the Antigua Valley past smoldering
Volcanoes and down to the low coastal plains covered in sugar cane plantations. At the Marina they board their private
yacht for a day of Deep Sea Fishing at its best. Guatemala is the best in the world for Pacific Billfish and on average we
release 22 sails per day per yacht. FIshing is on conventional rods but fly fishing is available for those who request it.
After a full day of fishing (7:00 - 17:00) guests can enjoy a drink in the marina bar before heading back up to Antigua.

Temples tower above the rainforest canopy and guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of a wide variety of tropical

DA15: HELICOPTER TO EL MIRADOR IN THE JUNGLE - DAY TRIP
DESCRIPTION: From your hotel in Antigua we transfer guests to Guatemala City airport for an early morning
scheduled flight up into the northern rainforest to Flores. Here we take guests to Maya Internacional hotel for breakfast
and to meet their archaeology guide for the day. When ready - guests will board their Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter for the
40min flight out over Lake Peten Itza and the pretty island town of Flores and across the vast tracks of jungle terrain of
the Maya Biosphere. Landing in literally the middle of no-where guests will be take on a tour of the fascinating site of El
Mirador which many believe is the largest Maya Site yet discovered. Climbing the huge main temple will create a sense
of awe in all who do so as you climb tens of meters above the canopy and survey the huge landscape surrounding the
site. This famous site is being worked on nearly all year around by Richard Hanson and his team of archaeologists so
hopefully guests will get to see a site in process of being both excavated and restored using the latest techniques. After
a picnic lunch and further time to explore and contemplate - guests will fly back to Maya International hotel. the rest of

DESCRIPTION: Our tour starts with a morning transfer (1hr) to the foothills of the active Pacaya volcano. The hike then
begins with a fairly strenuous hike through wonderful pine forest up to the more tricky volcanic ash section and finally to
the sulfur smoking cone. On occasions you can even see small eruptions and lava flow depending on the activity of the
volcano. From the summit we can enjoy great views to the northern volcanoes, the pacific lowlands and all the way toe
El Salvador. Half way down, we stop to enjoy a picnic lunch with the impressive volcano in close sight. Back at the base
of the volcano, our support vehicle awaits us for our transfer back to Antigua.

DESCRIPTION: An early morning transfer brings us to the foothills of twin peaked volcano called Acatenago. We then
begin a long (6 hour) but rewarding hike through fields and pacific cloudforest with spectacular views out over the
Antigua valley area. The tree line stops at 3300 meter, (10500 feet) and from here we are only another 30 minutes from
the peak. All along this hike there are amazing views down towards villages, other neighbouring volcanoes and even to
Lake Atitlan. Enjoy lunch on top of the volcano with a view down to the smoking volcano of Fuego. After lunch we return
to base where our support vehicle awaits us for our transfer back to Antigua

changes. Once with Maximon you may see local shaman performing rituals for local people and if you wish you can ask

ceremony performed. After visiting Maximon guests can visit the local church and learn about the history of this very
traditional town and also see the market and learn about the distinctive textiles and primitive art that is famous from this

Hotel. Here they board the Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter and fly out over Lake Peten Itza, past the island town of Flores and
over the rainforest scenery of Tikal National Park. After a few minutes guests will begin to the temple tops of Tikal in the
distance - towering above the rest of the rainforest canopy. As you come closer you can really appreciate the magnificent
structures and what an architectural achievement they are. Your flight takes you around the periphery of the central plaza
- close enough to enjoy this amazing birds eye view yet far enough away not to be a bother to the resident wildlife and
other visitors. After 2 passes the helicopter will transfer back to Maya Internacional Hotel and guests can enjoy time to
explore teh pretty island town of Flores or can transfer back to their hotel for the rest of the afternoon.

over the surrounding rainforest and nearby lake Yaxha. Guests then trek back through the jungle with torches as it starts
to turn dark - perhaps spotting some nocturnal wildlife along the way - and return to their hotel.

some time to explore the pretty island town of Flores. This is also a good tour to do the morning before clients fly out to

DP5: CEIBAL DAY TRIP
DESCRIPTION: Guests are picked up from their hotel at 9:00am and transferred by land to the town of Sayaxche (1.5hr)
on the shores of the River, "Rio Passion". From here guests board a boat for an hour boat transfer down this pretty river
into the rainforest area surrounding the site at Ceibal. A pretty strenuous climb up the hillside brings guests out at the site
which is amongst a forest of Ceiba trees - hence the name. The site has many beautiful carved stelea and an interesting
circular monument believed to be an astrology platform as well as other interesting monuments. When guests are ready
they will transfer back to their hotel the same way. In the dry season we may use land transportation the whole way to the
site so that guests do not have the steep hike up to the site.

DP6: AGUATECA DAY TRIP
DESCRIPTION: Guests are picked up from their hotel at 9:00am and transferred by land to the town of Sayaxche (1.5hr)
on the shores of the River, "Rio Passion". From here guests board a boat for an hour or so boat transfer down this pretty
river into the rainforest area surrounding the site at Aguateca. Guests enjoy a fun, exploratory jungle hike to get to this
pretty site including the spectacular natural fault that surrounds the site and provided the Maya population with a natural
moat-like fortification. Hike down into the fault and back out again to experience its depth and then out to visit the site
itself with newly renovated monuments and interesting carved stelae. A picnic lunch can be enjoyed at the site and then
when guests are ready they can transfer back to their hotel the same way.

(1.5hr) on the shores of the River, "Usumacinta" which forms a natural border between the two countries. From here
guests board a boat for a river transfer of approx. 2 hours through pretty rainforest scenery all hte way down to the site at
Yaxchilan which sites on the Mexican side of the river. Here guests can enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful and
impressive site deep in the rainforest. One of the most picturesque sites Yaxhilan has many interesting a varied
monuments to explore as well as beautiful stelea and a varied amount of wildlife. This is a long day but well worth it!

site at Bonampak by land. After a tour of the site and lunch in a local Lancandon community, guests continue to Palenque

DP9: HELICOPTER TO EL MIRADOR IN THE JUNGLE
DESCRIPTION: From your hotel we transfer guests to Maya Internacional hotel for coffee and to meet their archaeology
guide for the day. When ready - guests will board their Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter for the 40min flight out over Lake Peten
Itza and the pretty island town of Flores and across the vast tracks of jungle terrain of the Maya Biosphere. Landing in
literally the middle of no-where guests will be take on a tour of the fascinating site of El Mirador which many believe is the
largest Maya Site yet discovered. Climbing the huge main temple will create a sense of awe in all who do so as you climb
tens of meters above the canopy and survey the huge landscape surrounding the site. This famous site is being worked
on nearly all year around by Richard Hanson and his team of archaeologists so hopefully guests will get to see a site in
process of being both excavated and restored using the latest techniques. After a picnic lunch and further time to explore

DESCRIPTION: Guests are picked up from the airstrip or from their hotel and transferred to the Archaeology site
at Copan. Here they enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful site which is famous for its intricately carved stelea and
amazing hieroglyphic stairway as well as its comprehensive museum. When ready guests return to the town of
Copan and continue up into the hills to the wonderful Hacienda San Lucas. Here guests enjoy a sumptuous
lunch and time to relax before hiking out behind the hacienda to visit the tiny yet interesting site at Los Sapos - a
famous fertility site. When guests are ready they are transferred back to their hotel. (We recommend hanging on
at Hacienda San Lucas for sunset drinks & dinner as well!)

COP5: HORSES, COFFEE, CARDAMOM & HOT SPRINGS (Full Day)
DESCRIPTION: You will be met at your hotel reception at 9am by your private guide Carlos to begin your full
day excursion out to the Farm or "Finca El Cisne". Carlos's family owns the farm and he will take guests on a
tranquil horseback ride through the farmlands and beautiful scenery of the Copan Valley followed by a hearty
farmhouse lunch cooked by Carlos's mother where you can taste the coffee grown here. In the afternoon guests
explore the coffee and cardamom plantations and learn about cattle ranching. On the way back to Copan this
wonderful tour finishes with a dip in the hot springs.

COP6: PRIVATE MEDICINAL PLANT TRAIL & BOTANICAL EXPERIMENTATION SITE
DESCRIPTION: You will be met at your hotel reception at 9am by your private guide - the renowned
archaeologist David Sedat. From here you can either ride horses or take an adventuresome 4 wheel drive tour
up to David's nearby hilltop botanical experimental station that has views of all the Copan Valley . There, David
will both introduce you to the many fascinating properties of medicinal plants used by the Maya, as well as
demonstrate the new alternative crops that show great promise for reforesting and renewing the local landscape.
Learn about David's plans to help the community & the Copan Valley environment with such alternative crops as
Noni, Neem, and Macadamia. Enjoy a refreshing herb tea and snack before returning to Copan. This is a unique
and fascinating trip for anyone interested in botany, medicinal plants & environmental issues.

COP7: PRIVATE COFFEE PLANTATION & BIRD PARK
DESCRIPTION: You will be met at your hotel reception at 9am by your private guide for a 4x4 transfer out of
Copan and up into the stunning hills of the Copan Valley to the private Miramundo Coffee Farm. Enjoy guided
hikes around the coffee plantations (great for bird watching) and see the coffee processing plant (more action in
the harvest months of Nov - April) whilst you learn about the coffee process. After your visit sip coffee at the
house whilst enjoying stunning views across the Copan Valley. When ready guests return to Copan and to the
Bird Park for lunch. After lunch guests enjoy a walk in the lush, shady river valley location of the Copan Bird
Park where they get a local guide to accompany them and see and interact with a number of beautiful tropical
birds that have been rescued from locales all over Honduras. When ready guests are transferred back to their
hotel or to the airstrip.

the world's upmost authorities on Copan about the site, Copan & Honduras in general as you continue with a
traditional dinner & wine cooked by David's wife at their home. This is a unique and fascinating activity that
