Comalapa. On arrival to the town guests can see the famous
painted mural that the school children of the town painted
depicting mayor events in Guatemala’s history up to the
signing of the peace accords in 1996. From here you will
visit
some local painters who continue the tradition of naïve
paintings that the town is so famous for and visit a local
bakery
to see how they make the small, rock hard biscuits known as
“Roscas” that sell by the thousands each day in
Guatemala. Finally guests can visit the wonderful authentic
market of Comalapa to see the local people go about their
daily life buying produce and goods for the rest of the week
still dressed in the traditional textiles of the area.

can also visit the small museum dedicated to the composer
who wrote Guatemala’s national anthem who came from

DESCRIPTION: Guests transfer to the Guatemala National
airport and board a private charter plane for the 40flight
across Guatemala and into Honduras, landing on a small dirt
landing strip just outside the town of Copan Ruinas.
Guests are met off the plane by their driver and guide and
are transferred the 20mins through town and down to the
Archaeology site at Copan. Here they enjoy a guided tour of
this beautiful site which is famous for its intricately
carved
stelea and amazing hieroglyphic stairway as well as its
comprehensive museum. When ready guests return to the town

DAY OF PACIFIC SAILFISH - DEEP SEA FISHING
DESCRIPTION: Guests transfer down to the Pacific Coast
Marina through the Antigua Valley past smoldering
Volcanoes and down to the low coastal plains covered in
sugar cane plantations. At the Marina they board their

yacht for a day of Deep Sea Fishing at its best. Guatemala

release 22 sails per day per yacht. FIshing is on

THE JUNGLE - DAY TRIP
DESCRIPTION: From your hotel in Antigua we transfer guests
to Guatemala City airport for an early morning
scheduled flight up into the northern rainforest to Flores.
Here we take guests to Maya Internacional hotel for
breakfast
and to meet their archaeology guide for the day. When ready
- guests will board their Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter for the
40min flight out over Lake Peten Itza and the pretty island
town of Flores and across the vast tracks of jungle terrain
of
the Maya Biosphere. Landing in literally the middle of
no-where guests will be take on a tour of the fascinating
site of El
Mirador which many believe is the largest Maya Site yet
discovered. Climbing the huge main temple will create a
sense
of awe in all who do so as you climb tens of meters above
the canopy and survey the huge landscape surrounding the
site. This famous site is being worked on nearly all year
around by Richard Hanson and his team of archaeologists so
hopefully guests will get to see a site in process of being
both excavated and restored using the latest techniques.
After
a picnic lunch and further time to explore and contemplate -

DESCRIPTION: Our tour starts with a morning transfer (1hr)
to the foothills of the active Pacaya volcano. The hike then
begins with a fairly strenuous hike through wonderful pine
forest up to the more tricky volcanic ash section and
finally to
the sulfur smoking cone. On occasions you can even see small
eruptions and lava flow depending on the activity of the
volcano. From the summit we can enjoy great views to the
northern volcanoes, the pacific lowlands and all the way toe
El Salvador. Half way down, we stop to enjoy a picnic lunch
with the impressive volcano in close sight. Back at the base

VOLCANO CHALLENGE HIKE
DESCRIPTION: An early morning transfer brings us to the
foothills of twin peaked volcano called Acatenago. We then
begin a long (6 hour) but rewarding hike through fields and
pacific cloudforest with spectacular views out over the
Antigua valley area. The tree line stops at 3300 meter,
(10500 feet) and from here we are only another 30 minutes
from
the peak. All along this hike there are amazing views down
towards villages, other neighbouring volcanoes and even to
Lake Atitlan. Enjoy lunch on top of the volcano with a view
down to the smoking volcano of Fuego. After lunch we return
to base where our support vehicle awaits us for our transfer

distance - towering above the rest of the rainforest canopy.
As you come closer you can really appreciate the magnificent
structures and what an architectural achievement they are.
Your flight takes you around the periphery of the central
plaza
- close enough to enjoy this amazing birds eye view yet far
enough away not to be a bother to the resident wildlife and
other visitors. After 2 passes the helicopter will transfer

and transferred by land to the town of Sayaxche (1.5hr)
on the shores of the River, "Rio Passion". From here guests
board a boat for an hour boat transfer down this pretty
river
into the rainforest area surrounding the site at Ceibal. A
pretty strenuous climb up the hillside brings guests out at
the site
which is amongst a forest of Ceiba trees - hence the name.
The site has many beautiful carved stelea and an interesting
circular monument believed to be an astrology platform as
well as other interesting monuments. When guests are ready
they will transfer back to their hotel the same way. In the
dry season we may use land transportation the whole way to
the
site so that guests do not have the steep hike up to the
site.

pretty site including the spectacular natural fault that
surrounds the site and provided the Maya population with a
natural
moat-like fortification. Hike down into the fault and back
out again to experience its depth and then out to visit the
site
itself with newly renovated monuments and interesting carved
stelae. A picnic lunch can be enjoyed at the site and then
when guests are ready they can transfer back to their hotel
the same way.

impressive site deep in the rainforest. One of the most
picturesque sites Yaxhilan has many interesting a varied
monuments to explore as well as beautiful stelea and a
varied amount of wildlife. This is a long day but well worth

Itza and the pretty island town of Flores and across the
vast tracks of jungle terrain of the Maya Biosphere. Landing
in
literally the middle of no-where guests will be take on a
tour of the fascinating site of El Mirador which many
believe is the
largest Maya Site yet discovered. Climbing the huge main
temple will create a sense of awe in all who do so as you
climb
tens of meters above the canopy and survey the huge
landscape surrounding the site. This famous site is being
worked
on nearly all year around by Richard Hanson and his team of
archaeologists so hopefully guests will get to see a site in
process of being both excavated and restored using the

museum. When ready guests return to the town of
Copan and continue up into the hills to the wonderful
Hacienda San Lucas. Here guests enjoy a sumptuous
lunch and time to relax before hiking out behind the
hacienda to visit the tiny yet interesting site at Los Sapos

day excursion out to the Farm or "Finca El Cisne". Carlos's
family owns the farm and he will take guests on a
tranquil horseback ride through the farmlands and beautiful
scenery of the Copan Valley followed by a hearty
farmhouse lunch cooked by Carlos's mother where you can
taste the coffee grown here. In the afternoon guests
explore the coffee and cardamom plantations and learn about
cattle ranching. On the way back to Copan this
wonderful tour finishes with a dip in the hot springs.
