A seven-days itinerary that packs in the best of the pyramids in the vicinity of Cairo, the city itself, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel. The highlights of this tour is undeniably Aswan.

Egypt's sunniest southern city and ancient frontier town located about 81 miles south of Luxor, Aswan has a distinctively African atmosphere. Small enough to walk around and graced with the most beautiful setting on the Nile, the pace of life is slow and relaxing. Days can be spent strolling up and down the broad Corniche watching the sailboats etch the sky with their tall masts or sitting in floating restaurants listening to Nubian music and eating freshly caught fish.

In Aswan the Nile is at its most beautiful, flowing through amber desert and granite rocks, round emerald islands covered in palm groves and tropical plants. Explore the souk, full of the scent and color of spices, perfumes, scarves and baskets. View the spectacular sunsets while having tea on the terrace of the Old Cataract Hotel. Aswan has been a favorite winter resort since the beginning of the nineteenth century, and it's still a perfect place to get away from it all.

Itinerary:

Day 1:

Cairo-arrive and transfer to hotel. OVERNIGHT IN CAIRO

Day 2:

Cairo-full day tour of the pyramids: City of Memphis, Sakkara, Sphinx and the pyramids, and the Papyrus Institute.

Overnight in Cairo

Day 3:

Cairo/Luxor - morning transfer to airport for departure to Luxor. Visit Valley of the Kings and Queens.  In the afternoon, visit Luxor Temple. OVERNIGHT IN LUXOR.

Day 4:

Luxor/Aswan - in the morning visit Karnak Temples in Luxor. Afternoon transfer to airport and depart to Aswan and transfer to hotel. OVERNIGHT IN ASWAN

Day 5:

Aswan-in the morning visit High Dam and Philae Temple.  In the afternoon, visit Elaphantine and Botanic Islands. 

OVERNIGHT IN ASWAN.

Day 6:

Aswan/Abu Simbel/Cairo - transfer to airport for departure to Abu Simbel.  Tour Abu Simbel, the fly back to Cairo where you will be met and transferred to hotel. OVERNIGHT IN CAIRO

Day 7:

Cairo - morning visit the Egyptian Museum, and Old Cairo. In the afternoon, visit the Citadel, mosques and bazaars. OVERNIGHT IN CAIRO

Day 8:

Cairo-transfer to airport for departure.
