Essential Egypt - 9 days

Spend four nights in Cairo at a 5 star hotel and four nights on the Nile on a 5 star cruise ship and visit all the most important temples, pyramids and antiquities, including the Cairo Museum. You can extend your trip at the end for a short to Aleaxandria. Tour price includes inter-Egypt airfare.

Day 1, Saturday: Cairo

You will be met on arrival in Cairo and transferred to the Cairo Sheraton Hotel.

Sitting on the west bank of the River Nile in unique adjoining towers, our hotel proudly stands tall as one of Cairo's greatest landmarks. This hotel places you in the middle of it all. Take a short walk to the Cairo Opera House, Egyptian Museum, or Cairo shopping centers. The Pyramids of Giza are just 20 minutes away. Find magnificent views of the city or the River Nile from deluxe rooms, including 113 suites.

Day 2, Sunday: Cairo

This morning, after breakfast your guide will meet you at the hotel and you will set off to visit the Ancient Capital of Egypt at Memphis, the Step Pyramid and the Tombs of Sakkara. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Cairo Marriott Hotel. Breakfast.

Day 3, Monday: Cairo

Today's activities include a visit to the Coptic Museum and Old Cairo and in the afternoon a tour of the Egyptian Museum. Cairo Marriott Hotel. Breakfast.

Day 4, Tuesday: Aswan - Cruise Ship

After breakfast transfer from the hotel to the airport for flight to Aswan. You board your luxury Nile cruise ship the Oberoi Shehrayar or Shehrazad . After lunch on board join a Felucca for a sail on the Nile around Kitcheners Island and the Aga Khan Mausoleum. Return to the ship for dinner and a Nubian Folkloric Show.

The Oberoi Shehrayar & Oberoi Shehrazad are two identical sister ships. Built in 1986 they were among the first of the new generation of deluxe Nile cruisers. Both ships were recently totally rebuilt and upgraded to make all cabins larger. The sundeck and the pool are a good place to both relax and enjoy the Nile landscape. Billiard and Table Tennis are available on both ships. The Lounge Bar serves cocktails, soft and alcoholic beverages. Each standard cabin has two twin beds while deluxe cabins offer twin or king bed. All cabins have air-conditioning, telephone, mini-bar, safe deposit box and television with satellite transmission.


Day 5, Wednesday: Edfu - Cruise Ship

This morning visit the Aswan High Dam, the Temple of Philae, and the Granite Quarries to see the unfinished obelisk before sailing to Kom Ombo before lunch. In the afternoon dock at visit the temple shared by the two Gods, Sobek and Harocies. The ship then sails to Edfu where you spend the night on board.

Day 6, Thursday: Luxor - Cruise Ship

Before sailing to Luxor visit the Temp of Horus in Edfu. Tonight there will be a Galabia party on board.

Day 7, Friay: Luxor - Cruise Ship

This morning visit the West Bank, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, and the Clossi of Memnon. After lunch on board visit the Karanak and Luxor Temples. Dinner and overnight on ship.

Day 8, Saturday

Afternoon flight to Cairo, overnight at Cairo Marriott Hotel.

Day 9, Sunday

Transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
